Our Junior Vice Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Southwest Florida (Lee, Collier & Hendry Counties) was born on November

 10, 1926 and passed away on February 4, 2020.


Bert was combat wounded while serving in the Pacific Theater in WWII in 1945 on a combat jump in the Philippines. Bert also did several tours in Vietnam as a Special Forces Commander.


In his Military Career Bert was awarded the Silver Star, 4 Bronze Stars, 2 Purple Hearts, Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal along with several Campaign Ribbons.

  1. Preside at all meetings of the Chapter; enforce a strict observance of the laws and usage of the Corporation, and all orders from proper authority; approve all warrants drawn upon the Finance Officer for appropriation of money made and passed at a regular meeting of the Chapter; sign each check issued by the Chapter; and perform such other duties as the laws of the Corporation may require.
  2. Appoint an Adjutant, Service Officer, Welfare Officer, Americanism Officer, Historian, Chaplain, Surgeon, and all other Chapter officers and committees not otherwise provided for. Further, I may remove these officers and committees at my pleasure.

Chapter 696 Monthly Meetings

MOPH MEETING SCHEDULE

Executive meetings are held at the Veterans Museum in Cape Coral on the third Tuesday monthly at 10:00 AM with the exception of July and August.  No meetings are held these two months.


Next Meeting is on March 17, 2020

Chapter 696

Chapter 696 encompasses all of Lee, Hendry and Collier counties.  All life members are welcome to attend meetings and events.  Your inputs help the Chapter grow and prosper.
